Theodora Hadjimichael
Theodora was appointed Chief Executive of Responsible Finance in September 2019. She will build on our strong track record in supporting members to transform their communities through access to finance.
Before joining Responsible Finance in November 2013, Theodora worked in economic development consulting and community finance in the US. In Theodora’s six years as Responsible Finance’s Policy and Research Manager she has built a robust and accessible evidence base of data on member performance and industry trends; worked on our annual industry publication; responded to public consultations and given regular policy and regulatory briefings for members.
Rai Hart
Rai joined Responsible Finance in March 2022, as Team Administrator and Bookkeeper. After 18 months of dedicated service, she was promoted to Member Support Officer.
Her role involves ensuring successful programme delivery by providing essential support to members and making sure they have the necessary resources.
With experience in both the private and public sectors, Rai brings extensive knowledge in programme delivery, including designing and delivering training courses and providing client support.
Just prior to joining RF, she managed an IT business, gaining valuable experience in sales, marketing, operations, and project delivery across various sectors.
Rai works Monday to Thursday 9.30-4.30.
Matt Woodcock
Matt joined Responsible Finance in March 2024 to lead on the delivery of key projects and work streams which support member CDFIs, including reporting, research and evaluation.
Matt is an experienced Programme Manager who has led the delivery of a diverse range of projects and programmes in the UK civil service, including the Department for Education and Department for Health and Social Care.
Before moving to the public sector Matt worked for a number of financial institutions where he designed and developed online learning resources and led the implementation of the first membership and virtual learning platform for English school leaders.
In addition to project delivery, Matt will work closely with Rai to provide support to our members whenever and wherever it is needed.
Eleanor Russell
Eleanor joined Responsible Finance in 2017 and has since worked in a policy role. She strives to boost access to finance for under-represented individuals and entrepreneurs by supporting the growth of the UK’s community development finance sector. She does this through representing the sector to the Government and the regulator.
As well as her focus on policy, Eleanor leads work on Responsible Finance’s member data collection and annual industry impact report.
Heidi Fisher
Heidi works with Responsible Finance on a consultancy basis. She is a multi award winning specialist in social enterprise and social impact. She received an MBE for Services to Innovation in Social Enterprise and to Impact Measurement in the 2020 New Year Honours.
Heidi has worked with over 2,100 social enterprises, ranging from start-ups through to those with over £1 billion of income, supporting them to become more sustainable, develop their trading income and to better measure, manage and communicate the impact they have.
Claire Mathys – Public Affairs Consultant
Claire works with Responsible Finance on a part-time consultancy basis focussing on parliamentary engagement. She has over a decade of front-line experience working inside the political system, including senior advisory roles for government ministers, party leaders, MPs and peers.
Claire runs Impact Policy, a consultancy which specialises in helping not-for-profit organisations influence public policy, with clients spanning a range of sectors.

Jamie Veitch
Jamie leads on external communications, generating press and media coverage for Responsible Finance, members and their clients on a freelance, consultancy basis. He has been a regular co-author of our Annual Reports, assists with newsletters, contributes to our CPD Training programmes and is the producer and presenter of our series of podcasts.
He works with Responsible Finance on a part-time consultancy basis alongside other communications work with social enterprises and values-driven businesses all over the UK, and is the author of The Social Entrepreneur’s Guide to Winning Public Sector Tenders and the presenter of his own weekly programme on an FM radio station in Sheffield.
