Congratulations to CDFA member Scotcash, which has been announced as the winner of the Giordano Dell’Amore Microfinance Good Practices Europe Award 2015. Designed to recognise institutions that are committed to fostering financial inclusion and access to the mainstream financial sector for disadvantaged people, the award was presented at the 12th European Microfinance Network (EMN) conference in Dublin on the 18th June 2015.
The 7th edition of the competition included submissions from ten European countries operating in the microfinance and financial inclusion sector. Noted as being an example of best practice, Scotcash was honoured not only for its partnership with financial institutions whose aim is reaching people who have limited access to mainstream financial services, but as a model for replication across Europe.
“We congratulate Scotcash for being selected as winner and achieving success in financial inclusion across many disadvantaged communities” said Maria Cristina Negro, Giordano Dell’Amore Foundation Secretary General. In addition, the Foundation donated 50,000 euro to Scotcash to be reinvested in the organisation.
