The cdfa‘s members, up and down the country, provide a financial lifeline that is not available from commercial banks. They offer loans to people who can’t get finance on the high street, including to micro businesses, social enterprises, and individuals on low incomes.
Micro enterprise finance is a service our members provide that is particularly important in this difficult economic climate. They lend to viable businesses with less than 10 employees which the banks, for whatever reason, have overlooked. To find a micro enterprise lender near you, go to our Finding Finance website.
Bernie Morgan, Chief Executive of cdfa, said, “We are not convinced there is a big appetite by the banks to serve micro enterprises, particularly where the entrepreneur has little experience or collateral. By contrast, our members are ready and willing to lend to them, and develop them into thriving businesses. It is essential that the banks and the Government work with us to help micros to tap into this ready source of investment.”
