The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has published a list of 56 new Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) that have been proposed by businesses and local authorities.
LEPs will take the place of the eight Regional Development Agencies outside of London. Through them, councils will partner with businesses and other local bodies to promote enterprise and rebalance local economies.
The 56 bids received so far are set out on the BIS website.
